Following a hugely successful run of Maltby and Shire's musical revue ‘Closer Than Ever’ at the Edinburgh Fringe 2006, Kenmac Productions return to the Festival with Stephen Sondheim's classic 'Company', directed by West End performer Michael Strassen (directing credits include the controversial ‘Pitchfork Disney’ by Philip Ridley and Ruthie Henshall's Royal Festival Hall concert).
'Company' is the journey of New Yorker Robert, a 30 year old womaniser and commitment-phobe who, although afraid of never marrying, is disillusioned by the shortcomings of his friends' marriages. 'Company' is told through the music and lyrics of Stephen Sondheim ('Sweeney Todd', 'Sunday in the Park with George') and delivers a witty, insightful and often hilarious look at the lives and loves of some all-too-familiar characters. An exciting and emotive score guides us through the play, boasting a number of well known songs such as, 'The Ladies Who Lunch', 'Barcelona', 'Side By Side by Side', 'Another Hundred People', ‘You Could Drive A Person Crazy’ and the immortal 'Being Alive'.
The show features a top professional cast whose credits include ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Cats’, ‘Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘The Woman in White’ and ‘The Full Monty’.
